Community Legal Education

The Riverland Community Legal Service presents free community legal education workshops open to all persons/groups  in the Riverland region.

Workshop topics are diverse and can range from discussing the legal system in general to explaining specific legal procedures and issues relating to social justice. Participants have an opportunity to discuss the legal issues raised with a qualified solicitor and are encouraged to reflect upon the application of the law. Discussions relating to working within the legal profession are also possible.

Past workshop topics have included:

  • Debts and debt recovery
  • Motor vehicle accidents
  • Domestic violence legislation
  • Enduring powers of attorney and guardianship
  • Volunteers and the law
  • Equal opportunity legislation
  • Criminal law
  • Traffic law
  • Residential tenancies
  • Wills and estates
